I hope everyone is safe out there and if you are currently looking for a new challenge please get in touch with me :)

My last bigger blog post was from April 2020, when Bitcoin was High $8,784.96 (April 30, 2020) Low $6,423.61 (April 1, 2020) now the market cap as per today is $920,116,316,362 from about $181,000,000,000 in April 2020.

It is very interesting to see that the current adoption is driven more likely by institutional money rather than pure retail driven as we have seen previously. Its a very interesting start into 2021 and many years to come, if you want to dig deeper into a potential shift of wealth over the next decades you might find this little research paper interesting from the people @Kraken.

Another one is a very interesting outlook, what if private capital markets could be tokenized over the next 20 years? We went a bit further and asked Hristo from Findas to play with some numbers and assumptions. If you ever hear that your data team sucks — hire him, trust me he is a simply amazing individual.

Adoption curve
Assumptions, depending on which model the takeover rate from public markets to be allocated in private markets could be gradually or Exponential:

2020 itself was I think rather difficult for everyone out there but maybe also showed what you really need in life to be happy. Myself I invested in my health and mental health beside blockchain heavily in 2020 — with acquiring a Tarmac SL7 Pro — next step would be a S-works Tarmac SL7 hopefully in 2021 :)

If you are keen to follow me on STRAVA just use the following URL https://www.strava.com/athletes/marcelfuessinger if you are also a fellow cyclist.

Here are some of the stats — hopefully I am able to double them in 2021.

Also an interesting feature of STRAVA lately is to visualise your heatmaps, an easy overview which streets you still need to explore. Should the goal for 2021 be to visit at least all major streets? :D

It’s always great to keep track of statistics with your apple watch and STRAVA. Make sure you still dedicate some time for your well being physically but also mental to make sure those lockdowns are not doing irreversible damage to your brain. Try as much as you can to socialise through Facetime, zoom it makes the lockdowns and distance to your loved ones easier.

So what have we been up to in 2020?

  • Equanimity AG was granted the token generator/creator role in Liechtenstein based on the Blockchain Law.
  • Equanimity (Blockchain) Holdings Pte. Ltd. has been established in Singapore
  • alongside Digital Verse Pte. Ltd. and Trustless Technologies Pte. Ltd. both on the focus of tech which we see as very interesting and promising within the next decades.
  • We also discussed internally that we will onboard a investors mostly family and friends to further push the business under Equanimity to tokenize assets for the new economy with our investor onboarding / KYC tool to be further developed to morph into a platform and SaaS so that everyone can enjoy a quick and affordable investor onboarding and tap into a wider pool of investors who are already KYCed. It will also be prettier and more easy to use with regards to wallet creation and paying for the subscribed token amounts.

What will 2021 look like?

  • Solving other pain points we still need to solve to make it even easier for everyone to invest in tokenized assets.
  • distribution of securities through in house and licensed sales team
  • Automatic translate prospectus to other languages
  • Receive dividends and interest payments via USDC or automated FIAT payments
  • Payment with credit cards to acquire tokenized securities
  • Instant KYC approval after VideoIdent and World Check Database including internal algorithm makes it assessment that an instant approval is possible
  • Enable MyInfo for Singaporean investors
  • Enable further Single Sign ons with referral partners (so you don’t need to KYC twice.)
  • Further educate corporates and entrepreneurs that fundraising can be also fun and adventurous as long as we stick to the local regulation.
  • Establishing more and more use cases in Singapore with a tokenized financial instrument (debt, equity, profit participation and others) we are still looking for entrepreneurs who want to explore this option for fundraising.
  • In our cooperation with Scheiber.law we there is a 3rd pending prospectus in Liechtenstein to be approved so that would bring the total issued tokenized offerings to 3 in Liechtenstein which Dr. Florian Scheiber guided and hopefully more to come.
  • Renewal of my Entrepass is due in July where I am still scouting for the right cofounder in case you know someone I am more than happy to say thank you with a big red ang pao.

Nearly a decade ago, I started my journey in Liechtenstein which is now more and more becoming a hub for fully regulated blockchain companies with direct access to the European Economic Area.

What I am grateful for which happened between 2010 and 2013:

Meeting Herbert Bischof who is currently the CEO of BDO Liechtenstein.

Spending a few months in Kerala Trivandrum Technopark with Device Driven.

The guys from Device Driven and Daniel Bickel
great way to spend a birthday. The Leela was a great hint from Balaji Bal

Opening an Instagram account

https://www.instagram.com/marchello_f/ trust me it’s so funny if you scroll back in time 10 years on Instagram/Facebook and recall all those memories you can live through in that period of time. And yes, I miss fast cars — thats the only downside I see here in Singapore that owning a car here in Singapore means different thing then in Liechtenstein even they share the similar color of the number plate :)

V10, I miss that sound.

Meeting my co founders at CloudLab AG in Liechtenstein and executing the early versions of https://web-to-printq.com/en/ which was also used for CEWE COLOR its projects.

When I left in 2015 I really thought Singapore would make the race to become this hub for fully regulated blockchain companies — even though DBS recently announced the plans for an digital exchange alongside SGX and Temasek it might be still a bit difficult for a blockchain company to just open a corporate banking account as we also faced in 2018 with SocialX. But let’s look forward to the next decade.

So here we are 2021 everything looks bullish for blockchain, we survived 1 year of pandemic and the world has changed, lets see how much positive things of it will remain after we achieved that the majority of the world will be vaccinated and that free travel will be a thing again, it was quite a weird feeling to not see my family for over a year or not sit in an airplane so tracking my flight data in 2020 will be rather easy compared to the other years :(

Flights in 2015: 11
Flights in 2016: 25
Flights in 2017: 26
Flights in 2018: 33
Flights in 2019: 33 (fun fact that the numbers are the same for 2 consecutive years.)
Flights in 2020: 0. :(

What else happened in 2015?

We did a proof of concept with Gravit Designer for a Cardesigner which was then acquired by Corel Draw especially its fun to see that Figma pushed through as one of the leading tools to be used to design in the browser (2020) even we switched our complete designs from Sketch to Figma.

Last but not least

Stay persistent, healthy and motivated. The big shift has just started and being in tech the last 10 years it’s more and more clear that the next 10 years will be the most interesting one of my lifetime. Big thank you to my love Michelle who recently just survived 2 years with me :D
